What is sheltered and extra care sheltered housing? What is sheltered housing?
Sheltered housing takes the form of self-contained independent flats and studio apartments situated in a block with support services and activities facilitated through a scheme manager. All schemes have communal facilities and well-kept grounds. The majority have lifts that serve all floors and a door entry system with CCTV for added security. Some of the schemes offer flats adapted for people with disabilities, with kitchen and bathrooms designed for wheel chair users, and emergency pull cords/alarms. What is extra care sheltered housing?Willow Housing is building two extra care sheltered housing schemes, which will be ready in the autumn of 2003. The schemes are designed to enable tenants to live independently in their own homes, despite increasing disabilities and frailty. All accommodation is self contained and built to meet disabled standards. Showers are provided in all bathrooms and an assisted bathing suite is provided on all floors. A menu of personal care services will be provided by a care team managed by Brent Social Services depending on their assessment of individual needs and requirements. about us | news | careers | contacts | site map | legal notices | help | home London Strategic Housing | Mitali Housing | Riversmead Housing | Community Trust Housing | Solon Community Network | Stadium Housing | Willow Housing and Care |
