Willow Housing and Care shortlisted in the prestigious Guardian Public Service Awards, 2009

Willow submitted their innovative Hospital Discharge and Prevention support service, funded by Brent Council through Supporting People grant, for this years Guardian public service awards.

Society Guardian on Wednesday 30 September has announced that Willow’s project has been shortlisted in the Care of Older People category, sponsored by the Department of Health.

The final decision on the awards will be announced on 24 November at a glittering ceremony at Old Billingsgate, hosted by Jeremy Vine.

The service, recently show-cased by the Department of Health and the National Housing Federation, is delivered by our floating support team, based in Wembley, and managed by Mercel Hislop. The team work with older people to enable them to leave hospital when ready, in a planned way, and with on-going, tailored support to enable the individual to retain their independence and quality of life in their own home.
